This game pits players as a group of investigators, security personnel or streetwise vigilantes endowed with cybernetics, superpowers or both. They act at a local, regional or global level to identify and deal with threats that originate from Earth or distant stars. Despite this, there are numerous others who will view such actions in a poor light, and risks run high that otherwise likely allies could become rivals or even adversaries.

Cybernetics. Super powers. Monolithic cities. Space travel. Off world colonization. This is the near future of the 22nd century. Technology advances faster than human consumption. Earth shudders under the weight of, and mistreatment by, humanity. Alien races arrive from the stars. The neon lights never turn off, illuminating the night sky as bright as day. Global agencies protect the people of the world, but at what cost? Can those who wield such unchecked power truly remain altruistic?

GRID puts players in the role of super-powered, cybernetically-enhanced investigators and guardians of Earth. Whether through local, regional, or global agencies, these enhanced protectors look to safeguard the planet from rising crime and alien threats. They offer a beacon of hope to the downtrodden and forgotten of the future, but must risk everything to protect the fragile unification of the world powers lest they slip into old feuds and quests for dominance.
