A Pre-Summer Update!

Just wanted to share a little information before the studio takes a holiday weekend. The writing for the next and final planned expansion for True Agenda was completed today. All of the art has been finished as well, so it is on to the editing process. Thanks to how quickly Wasteland Saloon was completed earlier this year, this expansion is likely to be released before the end of summer. That leaves us ahead of our schedule for the year and we will have to decide if we can push out another expansion or simply get an earlier start on the new game release for next year. Another option we are looking into is to not push out anything else this year but focus on next year and getting an expansion and a new game release. Either option is viable, but the latter would ensure the game does not fall behind schedule.

We also started looking ahead into 2026. We plan on having the first expansions for both GRID (which is long overdue) and Primal Spirit. Both are in the early planning stages and preliminary cover art has already been designed for both titles. If we do push out another release, one of these titles would be the likely one chosen. Early planning is also in the works for the next full game release we plan to launch in 2027. This title would boast a new rules system and add different elements across much of the game play. It is an exciting prospect and will require extensive play testing to ensure everything works. We are also looking at how we release games to possibly change the finished product and where they are available. More information on this will be coming, but not likely this year. As always though, keep checking back here and across social media for more information.

Spring Time!

As the season once again changes, the staff here at the studio continue to work on the final planned expansion for the beloved True Agenda RPG. As of this post, writing is about 70% complete and the art is a little over halfway finished. The expectation is that editing will begin next month with an initial completion date of June. This will put the release almost four months ahead of where we expected it to be when things were discussed at the beginning of the year. This was largely because of the success in completing Wasteland Saloon ahead of schedule, since the original release date for that expansion was set for June.

What does that mean for the rest of the year? There is consideration to begin work on the first expansion for GRID, which was originally slated to be released this year. While it is uncertain whether or not the studio can complete this work before the end of 2024, getting a start on it this fall would mean a potential release in the first months of 2025. Also, as is our tradition, a new game is scheduled to release in 2025, so we must be careful when allocating resources to not impact the new game launch. We expect final decisions will be made once the work on the True Agenda expansion is complete and ready to go the printer.

Regardless of what we ultimately decide, 2024 has been off to a fantastic start, and even if we err on the side of caution, we are on pace to complete what we wanted for the year. Personally, I would like to get working on GRID because I feel we owe it to everyone who has taken a chance on our game systems and to those long-time followers and friends who want the additional content. Keep checking back here to see what is ultimately decided in the coming months and other announcements we have planned as we get closer to 2025.

Come Visit the Wasteland Saloon!

Howdy Pardner! The long-awaited, much delayed expansion for Chronofields is finally out! Wasteland Saloon is a western-themed expansion for the sci-fi time traveling roleplaying game. It is chock full of useful tools and game updates to bring the wild west into any campaign. There is also a complete scenario to launch the excitement! As always, it is available both here on our product page as well as over at Drive Thru RPG here.

While we are celebrating the successful launch of this expansion, the studio remains hard at work on our next release. Expected towards the end of the year, the final planned expansion for True Agenda is underway in both writing and art creation. Resistance will bring everything to a close that has been building in the storyline for years and will add a number of new game elements to combat and in-game timelines that we are excited to bring to True Agenda. Look here and across social media for more information this summer.

February News!

Here it is not even a month later and there is some exciting news from the studio! Last week we had sent off the proofs to our printer for the next Chronofields expansion and everything has come back positive. Because of this, it means we are looking to release the expansion about two months early! As we have explained on a few occasions before, the expansion is actually almost two years late, but the ability to get it out sooner than we projected is definitely welcome. We are still waiting on the proof copy to arrive from the printer, but as long as everything looks good, then we plan to release before the end of the month. This expansion will be available in the usual places and will be bundled with the other Chronofields titles on Drive Thru, meaning it will be even cheaper upon release for those who have already purchased the bundle.

We have already begun writing and working on the cover design and several art pieces for the last planned True Agenda expansion. However, the early release of the Chronofields title does not affect the timetable of this title, which is still slated towards the end of the year. If things change, then we will definitely update everyone here and across social media, but for now we have not made any significant adjustments to our release schedule.

Winter Wonderland

As we sit in the studio with the snow coming down, we are excited to announce our upcoming releases for the new year. First up will be the long awaited and delayed second full expansion for Chronofields. It will release this Spring and is currently in the editing and final art review phase. We plan to send it off to our printer by early March. The theme of the expansion centers around the American wild west but also builds upon the previous expansion, Haunting Fields. While there are no artist collaborations or other exciting news like we had during the Primal Spirit launch, this expansion looks to build upon the moderate success of the game title and is long overdue because of the issues faced by the studio during some of the worst of the Covid outbreak two years ago.

Another long overdue release that is currently in the writing and art development stage is the fifth, and likely final, full expansion for True Agenda. This one builds upon the already robust additions to the combat system and also looks to add additional timeline options for players and directors looking for more detailed and in-depth storytelling. We are anticipating a late Fall release for this one like we typically do, and this expansion will likely be the final thing we release this year.

While we wanted to try to push out more releases, we did not want to rush anything and overtax the studio resources, especially with us planning to release a new game system in 2025. This is not to say things couldn’t turn out differently, but we just currently are not planning any more for this year. We will have a better idea about future projects once the Chronofields expansion releases and the writing is complete for the True Agenda expansion. As always, keep checking here and across our social media platforms for more information as the year progresses.

Happy Release Day!

It is finally here! Primal Spirit, our newest tabletop roleplaying game is officially released both at our online store and over at Drive Thru RPG here: Primal Spirit - Streaming Consciousness Studios, LLC | DriveThruRPG.com This has been a wonderful accomplishment by all of the studio staff and with our amazing commissioned artists! While we celebrate this release and look forward to seeing what everyone thinks about the new game, we also are continuing working for the next few weeks on next year’s content as we had revealed in previous news articles and across social media.

Thank you to everyone who has been following us, been interested in what we do, and has contributed to our success. This has been an amazing journey and is not one we are planning to stop anytime soon! As always, continue to follow us here, on Facebook, or elsewhere and see what we plan to do next!

Another One Down!

As of yesterday, we finished the writing and artwork for the next expansion for Chronofields. The goal was to get at much done as we could before the new year on this expansion, and we completed it seven weeks early! The writing still has to go through editing and the artwork still needs to be converted for print compliance, but the heavy lifting is finished. This frees up the studio staff to look towards the next release for True Agenda as well as possibly a third title release in 2024. This will certainly help us get back on track with the rest of the project catalog, but we also have to ensure that quality and content are not compromised. Still, it is a reason to celebrate.

We won’t be sitting idle for the rest of the year. Our new game launches in less than two weeks and we have some time to get a jump start on several things while still being able to step away for a few weeks at the end of the year and enjoy time with family. As always, keep checking here and across social media for more announcements in the coming weeks.

Proof Copy Arrival and Finishing Everything Up!

The proof copy for our newest tabletop game releasing in November arrived a few days ago and everyone at the studio was happy with the result. There were no issues found and so our initial order of physical copies has commenced! All the other last-minute tasks required for launching a new game have been finished as well, so now is just the wait until the official release date a little more than a month from now finally arrives.

Wait, did I say we were just waiting for the date? I meant to say we are busy working on the long-overdue expansion for Chronofields. The writing is about 60 percent done and the artwork is nearing completion except for the scenario maps which have not yet begun. The goal is to get everything complete by February, but we are on track currently to be done this year. If we can manage that, then there is the possiblity of adding another project into next year’s que, but I am not quite ready to lock that in yet. Too many things can still cause delays at this point, so we will see where we are going into December. Keep checking back here or on social media to stay current with new announcements.

New Game Reveal!

It is finally time! We have completed all of the editing and final artwork approvals for our new game releasing towards the end of this year. All files have been sent to our printer and we are waiting for approval to receive our proof copy. Having said all that, while we celebrate here at the studio for another job well done, we can finally reveal a bit more about what you can expect to be seeing. This new tabletop game incorporates a lot of familiar elements from our other games and uses the same D20/D6 system that has been successful. However, we have added new elements to include more in-depth character background and world building tables. This game world is set in early prehistoric time on a world much like our own Earth back when it was a Pangaea world. While we do not have dinosaurs, there are still massive beasts roaming the wilds, and there are mystical energies to be tapped by those who can wield such untamed magic. This game has a lot more survival elements but is otherwise similar to how Chronofields introduced limited resources. Characters take the role of tribal members who must band together for safety and security in this harsh, living world.

There are a lot of other exciting things we have included in this game, but we want to hold off a bit before revealing everything. We did commission more artwork for this game and are excited to show a sampling of it here. What you see are some of the mythical monoliths found throughout the world. These are immense places of power and are often where tribes gather. The artist that made these beautiful images is just one of those that we commissioned for this game. Keep checking back here for more information as we get closer to the release date.

So what are we planning now that we have finished this immense project? Well, as mentioned before, we will begin working on the next expansion for Chronofields that was supposed to have been released last year. We hope to have this done and out for everyone before June next year. After that is the final expansion for True Agenda that should be out before the end of 2024. So we have a lot of work to complete in the coming months. As always, thank you to everyone who has been with us on this amazing journey!

August already!

The original intention was to keep the news page updated semi-regularly with exciting information about what we here at the studio were doing this year. Now it’s August. Better late than never and all that, but it is amazing how quickly time passes. There is good news, nonetheless. The newest game title has been 100% written and has gone to editing. About 70% of the artwork is complete, including several commissioned pieces. The rest of the artwork should be complete in the next couple of weeks, and then once editing and any rewrites are finished, the book will be sent off to the printer hopefully in early September.

While we wait for the proof to get back from our printer, we will begin work once more on completing the next expansion for Chronofields that was supposed to release last year. If everything goes well, then we might be able to secure a March or April release next year. Once that completes, then we will see where the studio wants to focus its attention on, but I am believing it will be for the long-awaited final expansion for True Agenda. However, that will be looked at closer once we get through the next few months.

In between all of this, we will be putting together several ads to start to drum up interest in our upcoming releases. Some will coincide with the new game release while others will be used on various social media and internet sites. More on this to come.
